About
Every child has a story to tell.
Hi — I’m Eriny, the artist and instructor behind Little VanGogh Art Academy. I’ve been teaching art to kids and adults for over 17 years.
Art has been part of me since childhood — I grew up creating the toys I played with. I studied at the University of Fine Arts in Egypt, earned a Bachelor’s degree, and later a diploma in Coptic art. I began my Master’s before relocating to Calgary, where my art journey continues.
Along the way I’ve taught kids in art centres and painted murals for residential and commercial spaces across Egypt and Canada. I work across acrylic, watercolour, charcoal, and oil — and everything I teach is what I actually use in my own practice.
I believe every child has a story to tell. My goal is to help them see what they’re feeling and turn it into lines and colours. I keep classes playful, with no pressure to be “perfect” — when kids stop worrying about getting it right, their real style shows up. I especially love the shy ones who think they can’t draw; the moment they make a mistake and just keep going is when the magic starts.
